Anthony Martinelli Advances to General Election in Bid for Des Moines City Council, Position 1

Longtime Des Moines resident Anthony Martinelli has advanced through the primary and into the general election in his bid to replace incumbent Matt Pina for Des Moines City Council, Position 1.

According to King County Elections, Martinelli received more votes than Pastor Curtis Harmon in the August 1st primary, allowing him to move to the general election along with Councilmember Pina.

King County Young Democrats Endorse Anthony Martinelli for Des Moines City Council

The King County Young Democrats have officially endorsed the campaign to elect Anthony Martinelli to Des Moines City Council, Position 1. The King County Young Democrats is the only Democratic group in King County that allows the consideration of every candidate running regardless of party affiliation.

The Elect Martinelli campaign also announced that they’ve been endorsed by Fmr. State Representative Jim Moeller, and Fmr. Kent Councilmember Elizabeth Albertson. Moeller, a chemical dependency counselor for Kaiser Permanente, served as a representative from 2003 to 2017; he was Speaker Pro Tempore during the 2013-2014 session. Albertson, a Kent Councilmember from 2006 to 2013, is a current mayoral candidate.
