General Election Voter Pamphlet Statement for Anthony Martinelli

Below is the statement that will appear in King County’s 2017 general election voters’ pamphlet for Anthony Martinelli, candidate for Des Moines City Council, Position 1. The voters’ pamphlet is being mailed to households on October 17.

Des Moines is a great city that I’ve been a proud resident of since I was 11. That being said, I believe strongly that with a fresh set of ideas and a forward-thinking approach, we can become even greater. This is why I’m running for city council; to help revitalize and improve our city.

As a father, I consider myself lucky to live in Des Moines, and to be able to raise my kids in such a wonderful community. However, we can do more to improve the lives of residents, making it both a safer and more enjoyable place to live: This includes increasing police funding and accountability, establishing a community center, expanding Parks, Recreations and Senior Services, enhancing the business climate, making Marina parking free for those who live in Des Moines, and raising the minimum wage.

I’m endorsed by the King County Labor Council, King County Democrats, and many others.
