Anthony Martinelli Advances to General Election in Bid for Des Moines City Council, Position 1

Longtime Des Moines resident Anthony Martinelli has advanced through the primary and into the general election in his bid to replace incumbent Matt Pina for Des Moines City Council, Position 1.

According to King County Elections, Martinelli received more votes than Pastor Curtis Harmon in the August 1st primary, allowing him to move to the general election along with Councilmember Pina.

Martinelli, a father of two and former Campaign Manager for King County Councilmember Dave Upthegrove, has been endorsed by a large group of organizations and individuals, including the King County Labor Council, founding editor of the Harvard Mental Health Letter Dr. Lester Grinspoon, and former Washington State Representative and Speaker Pro Tempore Jim Moeller (who’s also a chemical dependency counselor), among many others.
